September 1-25, Art Market Gallery of Knoxville is pleased to present an exhibit of recent works by Gordon Fowler of Knoxville and Pat Delashmit of Maryville.
Gordon Fowler is a wood artist who creates heirloom-quality bowls, platters and hollow forms using a woodturning lathe. Inspired by the symmetry and symbolism of circles, his primary focus is functional pieces, his favorite being the salad bowl: “Something that looks great on your countertop, feels wonderful when you pick it up and makes a dandy serving piece for your food; with a little care, it should last for generations.”
Pat Delashmit is a fiber artist who creates woven tapestries, soft sculpture and mixed media pieces. Her primary focus is tapestry, and the inspiration for many these pieces is the East Tennessee landscape. She says, “The changing seasons, weather and light of each day are images that inspire me.” She works from photographs as well as scenes remembered or imagined.
A First Friday Reception for the exhibit is planned for September 2 from 5:30-9 pm with complimentary refreshments and live music.
Sculptor Morgan Fitch welds various metal found objects together to create whimsical animal and humanoid forms. He’s delighted when observers of his sculpture find humor in it and appreciates their efforts to identify the multitude of old tools and utensils incorporated into his works.
Artist Bob Conliffe creates colorful, sometimes dream-like images using digital photography and image enhancing techniques. These photo illustrations are created starting with his own digital photographs which he then enhances with digital brushwork, color manipulation and other devices.
A First Friday Reception for the exhibit is planned for October 7 from 5:30-9 pm with complimentary refreshments and live music. This exhibit also marks the opening of the gallery’s New Members Show.

Artist: Karen Basile
Over the past thirty years or more, I have experienced different phases of creative and artistic growth in my works. This growth has come not out of schooling or formal education in the arts, but through the soul. As such, I have learned to master the essence of what it is I want to capture in my paintings and other works. It is this essence that has enabled me to have the privilege of displaying my paintings alongside distinguished and notable artists in the Bay Area and in Reno, Nevada.
My paintings have been exhibited in One Man Shows such as Contra Costa County Fairs, Delta Art Gallery in Antioch, and Bret Harte Boardwalk in Oakland. Other exhibits have included the Gilbert Fine Arts Gallery and Cory Gallery in San Francisco, the New York Landing Gallery, Golden Gallery of Oakland and New Masters Gallery in Concord. My works are also featured regularly at the Delta Art Gallery.
My paintings are in oils, acrylics and gouaches covering a variety of subjects. They can be found in permanent collections and have received awards in juried shows.
As a native Bay Area resident, born and raised in Pittsburg, I have enjoyed being a member of the Delta Art Association and participating in many local artist shows.
