Area Artist News

We need to get networked. Somehow, somewhere, some way.  I am working on a project that I think a lot of local artists  would be interested in. And I have no way of reaching even 1% of the artists in this area. There is a huge need to get us all networked, so we can start pushing the local art scene in a direction as a collective group instead of each person doing something by themselves, which is only making us go in circles, getting nowhere.

I know, you use Myspace and Facebook and Twitter and a slew of other places, but those aren’t working to get us all in one place at one time to see what everyone is up to.  The arts is about community, so I have created a community for artists to join, using Live Journal. You can sign up for a free account if you don’t already have one.  The community is here.

I’ve also created an online meeting place called Knox Artists here.

I urge you to get involved. Don’t book mark it and look around when you remember it, create an account for yourself, and join the community. That way, you can let others know what you’re doing, and we can all see what the rest of us are doing. But it won’t work as a drop in and read place, it will only work if you join the discussion, and use this place.

I’ve got such a good buzz for what’s going on in the arts around here, and we could be doing some really cool stuff if only we’d get our collective act together and get networked. So please, go get an account, join this new community, and let’s get talking. I’ve got some really cool stuff in the works, and until I can get a way to reach the artists around here, no one will benefit from these ideas. Help me to help you to help each other.

Thanks-
Steve

Support this site!
Help sponsor KnoxvilleFirstFriday.com This web site was created for you by Steven Lareau, a local artist. It's not funded by any company or organization, I'm doing this all by myself, for the art community and the art loving public.

If coming to ONE place for info on Knoxville's First Friday events is helpful, I'd really appreciate a little something for the effort, it'll help support my art habit. :)

Thanks- Steve

By the way, you can help sponsor this site at a very reasonable rate. I can place a text ad or a button, on this sidebar, which will be visible on every page of this web site, aside from the image galleries.
Thanks for the support!
